Yohji Yamamoto Stylist Battle at the V&A

I was honoured to participate in the Yohji Yamamoto stylist battle at the Victoria and Albert Museum the other day hosted by Polona Anders and Ligaya Salazar. The other stylists competing were Paul Joyce and Hope von Joel. We were asked to recreate a Yohji look vs a look of one of the female designers he has been competing against throughout his career. My first look featured a designer that I admire for her art like work - Liz Black, the dress I choose was a masterpiece that already attracted a lot of attention on the way to the V&A - the sculpture and feel of the piece had a comme des garcon feel about it. The second outfit was a more androgynous creation by talented fashion designer Viking Wong. With it's layering, extrinsic attention to detail and beautiful craftsmanship I found it would be something that Yohji himself might have created. But take a look yourself.

Earth Hairdressing Bloggers event

I got invited to a great Pampering evening the other night by the lovely Lois of Bunnipunch

Earth Hairdressing hosted it's first bloggers event on the 8th of June with a great turn out. Plenty of Bloggers from the Fashion and Beauty industry had the opportunity to mingle. I particularly enjoyed meeting the charming Lara Lain who has a fabulous fashion blog that you guys should check out: www.ifeellikeidreamtit.com and hairstylist extraordinaire Tomo

We then went on to try out some of the scrumptious treatments on offer by the cosy hair and beauty salon like head and hand massages, hair consultations and facials by the organic brand Melvita. Another delight was a cute goody bag at the end with plenty of Aveda samples and a Chic Unique jewellery creation. All in all a great girlie night to remember.
